Orbital partners with REV3RD to Offer Pellet Extrusion on its Robotic AM platform

Campbell, CA – Orbital Composites has announced a new partnership with REV3RD, a leading manufacturer of pellet extruders for 3D printing. This partnership will allow Orbital to offer REV3RD’s entire family of pellet extruders on its robotic additive manufacturing (AM) platform, providing users with greater flexibility and customization options.

Orbital’s multi-robot AM platform products like Orbital S and Orbital F are redefining the art of the possible for robotic printing. They are already leading edge platforms for polymer and continuous-fiber printing at 1m and 10m scale respectively. The addition of REV3RD’s pellet extruders will allow users to print with a wider range of materials, at an accessible point, especially for larger parts.

“Partnering with REV3RD is an important step in expanding the capabilities of our robotic AM platform,” said Cole Nielsen, Founder and CTO of Orbital Composites. “With the addition of REV3RD’s high-quality pellet extruders, our customers can unlock new capabilities like multi-scale robotic 3D printing, driving new product innovations”.

By including both filament and pellet extrusion, Orbital is offering a highly versatile robotic AM platform for polymer printing. In addition, Orbital is also a leader in continuous-fiber AM, offering exciting opportunities for customers to develop multi-material and multi-scale products with advanced multi-functional properties.

“We are excited to partner with Orbital Composites to bring our pellet extruders to their robotic AM platform, and we are glad to do this with such a young and passionate team as Orbital,” said Alessandro Torre, CEO of REV3RD. “This partnership represents a significant opportunity for us to expand our reach in the fast-growing US market.”

“After reviewing various extruders on the market, we chose REV3RD because of their high-quality design,” says Anil Kircaliali, Head of Automation at Orbital Composites. “We want to ensure that we offer our customers the highest quality experience”.

“Orbital is building modular robotic AM systems of ALL sizes, that offer the highest flexibility to our customers”, said Amolak Badesha, CEO of Orbital Composites. “This means offering the broadest range of options to our customers when it comes to materials, sizes and flexibility”. Orbital is already building robotic AM systems with REV3RD extruders for delivery in Q3, 2023.
